THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A suicide note of the CPM activist Asha, who committed suicide in Parasala, has been recovered. The note has mentioned mental harassment by local leaders identified as Rajan and Joy. The note said she is taking the drastic step following constant exploitation. A protest was witnessed in the place where the woman committed suicide. The local residents’ blocked the Parasala police who reached the spot.
Meantime, party district leader Anavoor Nagappan said she did not commit suicide at the place where the party office is situated. She took the drastic step at the plot bought years ago for constructing a party office. That place is messy now. Even a bike cannot go properly through that narrow path. He said that he came to know about the incident this morning.
He said, “I don’t know why she took the drastic step. She was a Kudumbashree activist. Her relatives alleged that she committed suicide after being dejected by the party. I don’t know whether she had attended yesterday’s Kudumbashree committee or not. The party’s area committee was there yesterday. However, she was not an area committee member. As an activist of Kudumbashree, she was a loyalist of CPM.”
She has a membership in Kudumbashree. She was very active in all programmes of Kudumbashree. She has no membership in any of the party’s organisations, he said.
She was found hanging in the building bought for the party office. Asha was found hanging in a search by her relatives after found missing in the night. She took the drastic step due to dejection from the party committee. She leaves behind her children Arun Krishna and Srikanth.
