THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala recorded 2988 cases of COVID-19 on Friday, health minister KK Shailaja informed. Among the new cases, 2738 persons developed the disease through contact including 285 cases without an identified source of infection, 45 persons came from abroad while 134 came from other states. 52 health workers also tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
1326 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus on Friday.

The state reported 14 COVID deaths on Friday taking the toll to 410.
There are 2,03,256 under observation in the state with 21, 492 in hospitals. In the past 24 hours, 35,056 samples were tested.
Currently, there are 594 hotspots with the addition of 18 regions and removal of 17.
