Police resisted demonstrations and protest marches of Congress, Youth Congress, Youth League, Yuva Morcha and BJP which held at many parts of the state.
Violence erupted at many places between the protestors and the police including at the secretariat. In Alappuzha and Kollam when the resistance of police created violence, water cannons were used at protestors to disperse the violent crowd. At Malappuram, strong police security was given to minister K T Jaleel’s home. Nobody was allowed to enter his home. Even though BJP organised a march to his home at Valancherry, police resisted.
Meanwhile, at Kozhikode, police used water cannons twice at the protestors. Youth Congress workers have created blockade along the Wayanad- Kozhikode national highway.
