THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala recorded 2885 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, health minister KK Shailaja informed. Among the new cases, 2640 persons developed the disease through contact including 287 cases without an identified source of infection, 42 persons came from abroad while 137 came from other states. 55 health workers also tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
1944 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus on Saturday.

The state reported 15 COVID deaths on Saturday taking the toll to 425.
There are 2,03,300 persons under observation in the state with 22,177 in hospitals. In the past 24 hours, 43,954 samples were tested.
Currently, there are 603 hotspots with the addition of 19 regions and removal of 10.
