KOZHIKODE: Madhyaman Senior News Editor and Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) state committee member N Rajesh passed away on Sunday. He was 56 and was undergoing treatment for liver-related ailments at Aster MIMS Hospital in Kozhikode.

Rajesh, who began his career at 'Kerala Kaumudi', had won the Kerala Sports Council Award for the best sportswriter in 1992. He had also won other prestigious awards such as Mushtaq award and Swadeshabhimani award.

A faculty at Institute of Communication and Journalism under Calicut Press Club, Rajesh had also served as Press Club secretary thrice.

The funeral took place at the crematorium on Mavoor road at 6 pm.
