THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Controversial minister, K T Jaleel who reached Thiruvananthapuram from Malappuram under heavy police cover continues to be silent over the ED grilling. The minister has taken a stand; not to respond through the media and his official number & personal number is not available for calls. Sources near to him are also not ready to give a statement. Sources from opposition say that they will organize protests before Jaleel’s official residence and in the Secretariat on Monday. Police security has increased in secretariat with deployment of women police personnel.
Meanwhile, sources say that Jaleel is likely to meet the chief minister on Monday. He will prove his innocence before the chief minister and the CM in turn will inform him of the stand taken by party & government over the issue. CPI, an important party in LDF, is already up in arms against Jaleel for going to the ED’s office in the vehicle provided by the controversial businessman. CPI holds the view instead of going in discret to the ED’s office, Jaleel could have openly informed the media before going for interrogation.
If he wanted to use a private vehicle, he could have used his own car. CPI holds the view that it is not the ED’s grilling, but the stand taken by the minister which has put the govt in trouble. The party’s viewpoint is that the issue should not be taken as an agenda in the coming LDF meet. CPI also thinks that CPM will explain the issue in the next meet of LDF. The party has already condemned Jaleel in its mouthpiece, for bringing religious texts and other presents from UAE denying pre-existing rules.
