THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ramesh Chennithala, fired another shot at CM’s allegation that opposition and media did injustice to govt’s life mission project. He said it was the government which did an injustice. Media only reported the injustice done by the government in life mission and government is alleging that it was the media who did an injustice. Govt is complaining that organised efforts are being made to malign their image. “A Govt which has already lost its image is complaining that someone is trying to defame its name,” Chennithala said. This government thinks that nobody will question it even if it does any scam or theft worth crores of taxpayer’s money. The opposition leader also alleged that the government until now is not ready to leave Swapna Suresh who tried to collect Rs 100 crores under the life mission from abroad.

Chennithala also criticised the protocol officer. 17,000 kg of dates came under the diplomatic baggage. Why so much quantity of dates was imported. This will not happen without the concurrence of state government’s protocol officer. Chennithala also asked that it should be clarified whether the transfer took place with the official’s nod and whether he has enquired it?

Gold was smuggled via the illegal importing of dates from UAE. The opposition leader has also demanded a probe over this issue.

The chief minister had earlier stated that ED’s probe is going on the right track. He also mocked that certain people’s heartbeat will rise as the probe goes on. While the heartbeat of UDF leaders remains normal, those of Kodiyeri, Jaleel and EP Jayarajan has risen considerably as the probe started getting new leads.

Chennithala asked why E P Jayarajan’s wife went to the bank to check her locker while serving the quarantine period. Because of her irresponsible attitude now the bank officials have also gone to quarantine. Jayarajan must specify the relationship between his son and Swapna Suresh. “I would like to tell the chief minister that there is no need to blame anybody else whenever controversies sprung up,” Chennithala said. He also added that CM is bound to regulate those who work with him and it is useless to raise voice against media whenever they bring out nepotism and graft charges of CM’s colleagues.
