KASARGOD: Muslim League leadership is leaving no stone unturned to save its MLA M C Kamaruddin who is undergoing investigation in the Jewellery fund scam. Meanwhile, the decision of the state leadership to sell off the assets of the jewellery to save Kamaruddin from the soaring liabilities won’t be an easy task to implement. However, the district treasurer of the party who was appointed as a mediator by the party has started approximating the assets.
Whereas in the initial enquiry it was found that no substantial asset is registered under the jewellery. The assets available presently were either mortgaged or sold and the MLA also doesn’t hold assets worth crores. The leadership is now seeking alternative ways to resolve the liability issues faced by the MLA. Now the only solace is the money invested by Pookoya Thangal and Kamaruddin in the real sector in Bengaluru. The land and building of the company was sold to a native of Padana for about Rs 3 crores
