THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala recorded 3830 cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, health minister KK Shailaja informed. Among the new cases, 3562 persons developed the disease through contact including 350 cases without an identified source of infection. 49 persons came from abroad while 153 came from other states. 66 health workers also tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

As many as 2263 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus in the past 24 hours.

The state also reported 14 COVID deaths on Wednesday taking the toll to 480.

As many as 2,11,037 persons are under observation in the state with 23,079 in hospitals. There are 32,709 active cases in the state. In the past 24 hours, 46,162 samples were tested.

At present, there are 610 hotspots with the addition of 15 regions and the removal of 22.
