KANNUR: The CPM branch secretary arrested for smuggling ganja from Karnataka to Kerala has been removed from the post. Subhilash, CPM Chingakundam branch secretary, taken into custody the other day by Karnataka central crime branch team, was removed from the post. A decision on it was taken at the CPM Payam local committee meet.
The branch secretary and his brother were arrested in the case registered by Mysuru police related to the smuggling of 500 kilograms of ganja to Kerala. The police team from Mysuru reached Kerala and arrested him. Appointment of Subhilash as the ambulance driver in Kannur without police clearance had stoked a controversy. CPM Iritty area secretary said that strict action will be taken with more details out.
