THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The protests staged by the BJP and the UDF are to topple the government, said CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. The violent protests are unleashed by the Congress and the BJP after recruiting goons. They are trying to endanger the ministers. The public will face this. It was the people who brought the LDF to power and they are with us, he said.
A sectarian force and big corporates are behind these protests. The UDF is trying to defame the Left Government. The UDF centres are trying to tarnish the 100- day action plan. P K Kunhalikutty had announced that their enemy is CPM and not the BJP. This is a public announcement that the League will form an alliance with the BJP in the coming polls. The league should clarify why they are saying that the BJP is not their enemy, said Kodiyeri.
Kodiyeri said that it should be clarified whether there is any connection for the CBI not taking up the Marad case and the stand of Kunhalikutty. It has been a year since the Titanium scam was handed over to the CBI during the UDF rule. It should be clarified whether there is a connection in settling the Titanium case and the Congress' BJP friendship in Kerala. All are uniting as part of forming an anti-CPM alliance.
The protests are staged in Kerala every day in the name of different things. They are changing their statements. The agitation started when it was seen that the probe in the gold smuggling case would reach the BJP leadership. The NIA summoned Jaleel as a witness. Probe by the central agencies are taken seriously by the LDF Government. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had demanded a proper inquiry, he said.
