THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister A K Balan on Saturday declared the 28th annual state television awards. This time, Kaumudy TV got seven awards. Kerala Kaumudy deputy editor V S Rajesh won the award for the best presenter in ‘non-story category,’(educational programme). The award is given for the interview programme 'Straight line'. Vava Suresh has been named as the best presenter in the non-news programme category(Snake master). While Shankar Lal has been named as the best male dubbing artist for his work in Mahaguru, Rohini A Pillai (Mahaguru)won the best female dubbing artist award. Leswin Ullas won the award for best child actor (Mahaguru). Loval S and Shibukumar were named the best cinematographer and best art director respectively..
Mahaguru serial, produced by Kaumudy TV, is based on the epic life of social reformer and renaissence leader Srinarayana Guru. It was directed by Mahesh Kidangal. Mahaguru serial received 5 awards.
