THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Crime Branch team, probing the deaths of 7 family members of the Koodathil family in Karamana, have made a major breakthrough in the investigation. The officials have discovered that caretaker Raveendran Nair's statements, regarding the deceased Jayamadhavan Nair permitting him to transfer the family property, are false.

The officials have also obtained crucial information about a conspiracy behind the acquisition of wealth. Following this, the Crime Branch has written to both Thiruvananthapuram Corporation and Registration department to stall the transfer of wealth and building works related to Koodathil land.

Earlier, an autorickshaw driver, who first claimed that he had rushed Jayamadhavan Nair, had changed his statement. While giving a new statement, the autorickshaw driver said that he had not taken Jayamadhavan Nair to the hospital. He also added that he lied initially as Raveendran Nair offered him Rs 5 lakh.
As per the complaint filed by Jayamadhavan Nair's relative Prasannakumari, the death of Jayamadhavan was suspicious as Raveendran Nair did not seek the help of a next-door autorickshaw driver despite the fact that the autorickshaw used to be parked in the Koodathil land.

Jayamadhavan's post-mortem report says that an injury on the head was the cause of death. There was also thickening of blood on his face. The Medical Board has not submitted a report that would help to ascertain whether the injury on the head was caused by a natural fall or not.

According to the crime branch, a group of people, including Jayamadhavan's distant relative former Collector Mohandas, had met after his death to conspire and forge documents in order to acquire the family's wealth.
