THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the state will receive heavy rainfall for the next few days due to the formation of a low-pressure area over the northeast Bay of Bengal. The CM has urged the public to remain on high alert and has also warned the fisherfolks to refrain from venturing into the sea.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red, green and yellow alerts for the following districts
Red alert
2020 September 20: Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod.
Orange alert
2020 September 20: Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam
2020 September 21: Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasargod.
Yellow alert
2020 September 20: Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam.
