THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI condemns the decision to exclude them from gurudevan’s statue unveiling ceremony. The party alleges that leaders including deputy speaker V Shashi, C Divakaran MLA were excluded from the ceremony.
CPI also alleged that the government has taken a stand of excluding party leaders from the inauguration of new ICU wing in Thiruvananthapuram Medical College and from the inauguration of houses built under life mission.
Meanwhile, minister Kadakampally Surendran has come up with a response on CPI’s allegations. He said that deputy speaker V Shashi was invited to the ceremony.
The statue of social reformer Sree Narayana Guru was erected in Thiruvanathapuram as part of the centennial celebration of Gurudevan’s proclamation that "we have no caste.” The statue was unveiled by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday morning.
