THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The recent surge in COVID cases with unidentified sources indicate that the state might have experienced community spread in the last month. This can adversely affect the measures taken by authorities to combat the coronavirus. From September 1 to September 22, the state has reported 6055 cases with unidentified sources. From September 16 to September 22, the number of cases with unidentified sources is 2793. This means that the situation in the state is likely to get worse as more relaxations come into effect from Wednesday onwards.
The government has already confirmed that community spread in Poonthura and Pulluvila regions in Thiruvananthapuram. The government confirmed community spread after these regions reported a surge in cases with unidentified sources.
