KASARGOD: Seven more cheating cases were registered against Manjeshwaram MLA M C Kamaruddin. Six cases were registered in Chanthera police station and one case was registered in Kasargod police station against him and Pookoya Thangal.

Six cases in Chanthera police station is registered on the complaint of siphoning Rs 88,55,000 from six persons, whereas the lone case in Kasargod is taken on the plaint of misappropriating Rs 5 lakh, which was invested by a native of Cheruvathoor in Kamaruddin’s jewellery.

With this, the cases in which the MLA is an accused has become 63. Meanwhile, SFI has alleged that Trikarippur arts and science college, whose chairman is M C Kamaruddin has collected 5 lakh each from 85 persons as investment and in return have not given any profit share or money. The college which started in 2013 still functions in a temporary building.

However, the college authorities have ruled out these allegations as baseless. They have also cited the high court verdict which granted them four months time to transfer the college to another building.
