bhagyalakshmi

Veteran director Alleppey Ashraf, has come in support of dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi who with her gang, manhandled a rogue youtuber who allegedly made indecent comments against women in his video. He pledged his support to the senior dubbing actress via his facebook post.

Youtube channels which are indecently portraying women and religions have grown manifold now a days. Law is unable to prosecute such people and it is high time that the government should intervene to nab the culprits.

At the same time, he also said that he doesn’t fully support Bhagyalakshmi’s actions over the issue. “But the courage shown by this actress….cannot be ignored by any men who have backbone.” he added.

His facebook post is as follows:

A word to our cultural leaders, you will only respond when a girl will commit suicide due to burden of humiliation.

Decades ago….

I still remember that small, active and beautiful girl who always comes with her aunt in dubbing theaters, when I was dubbing for PJ Antony and Jayan. At that time she dubbed for children’s characters in movies.

She grew up, but she always accompanied her aunt.

During those days there were a bunch of people in recording studios to give voice to different characters in a movie. That group always discussed the gossip going on in the film industry. But that aunt and her niece always sat in a corner away from that group.

That young girl, who always attracted me with her gentle-behaviour and self discipline went on to become the well known dubbing actress Bhagyalakshmi who created wonders with her unique voice.

In those days, when even women from reputed families were getting trapped in many plots set on the film industry, that woman, who was orphaned and went through many hardships of life made her position in the industry without compromising anyone. Artists like me have seen how reputedly Bhagyalakshmi made her way in the film industry.

No where in the film industry, a wrong opinion is heard about Bhagyalakshmi.

But when her family life collapsed, I heard that she went through several psychological ups and downs but that’s her personal life.

Now, like a donkey’s monologue, two appeared in social media against Bhagyalakshmi…those who insulted the woman through social media.

First one is Santivila Dinesh, who is trying to insult his colleague through a war of words.

He is trying to target that woman in public space in order to avenge her for silly issues between him and her.

Mutual respect is part of our culture and it is applicable for me and Santivila Dinesh equally.

No body can support the allegations raised by Santhivila Dinesh against Bhagyalakshmi.

Shantivila was infuriated by Bhagyalakshmi’s comment on Ram Leela that she won’t watch the film in Theatres. The only crime that she did was lenting her voice for Radhika’s character in that movie and watching that film in theatre or not is her freedom. Her family life is her personal matter. Posing opinions like she shouldn’t have talked about her husband… is wrong and disgraceful.

Shantivila even directed her not to tell a word about her ex-husband. She has opposed his opinions and is still vocal about her ex-husband. It is not due to her lapse that her husband hasn't responded yet to her allegations.

After getting inspired from Shantivila another man has turned up against Bhagyalakshmi. If it goes on like this, Bhagyalakshmi becomes someone who can be targeted by anybody.

But Bhagyalakshmi shows us how a woman should behave at times when the justice delivery system and law in this country stands just for namesake.

Then we have seen the psychologist opening up his mind, with the mark of beating in his cheeks and with folded hands he asked for mercy to the gang of women, who demanded his apology.

Further probes on his Phd in psychology might reveal the authenticity of his work. Anyway his future hangs in balance.

In youtube, channels which insult religions and women have grown manifold. Here law stands just for namesake. Government should declare a drive to clean up the system.

I also want to tell Bhagyalakshmi that I don’t unconditionally support your actions.

But the courage shown by this actress….cannot be ignored by any men who have backbone especially by those who have a mother, sister, daughter and wife.

Let’s consider that in the place of Bhagyalakshmi stands our sister, then what she had done is right. If that becomes the case, let's stand with our sister, let’s stand with more women like Bhagyalakshmi.
