THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state capital of Thiruvananthapuram recorded 853 COVID-19 cases on Sunday. Of the cases, 822 are through contact. Ernakulam, Kozhikode, and Malappuram reported more cases than Thiruvananthapuram in the past 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, Kozhikode reported 956 cases while Ernakulam and Malappuram reported 924 and 915 cases respectively.

Six COVID-19 deaths were confirmed in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday taking the total fatalities to 214 in the district. Nedumangad native Sivasankaran Nair (87), Mariyapuram native Dhanooja (90), Vithura native Sasidharan Pillai (64), Korani native Rajappan (65), Thirumala native Raveendran (73), Puthukurichi native Lawrence (37) were confirmed with the viral disease after their deaths.
