THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Keralakaumudi Kottayam bureau chief Rahul Chandrasekharan has been named as the winner of the Swami Vivekanandan Yuva Prathibha Award for young journalist of 2019. The award which includes Rs 50,000, citation, and certificate will be handed over to the recipient in the ceremony at Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday evening. The award is for the various reports published in Keralakaumudi in 2018.

Rahul, the son of Chandrasekhara Pillai and Valsalakumari of 'Gokulam' in Kottayam's Manimala, has been a journalist in Keralakaumudi since 2010. He was assigned as the bureau chief of Kottayam in 2017. He has previously received awards like TV Achutha Warrier Award of Thrissur Press Club and Kozhikode Shantha Devi Award.
