THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday responded to the High Court's remark on CBI probe in Life Mission scam. Terming the criticism directed against the government's move to approach the court ridiculous, Vijayan said that the court will take appropriate decision on the petition.

According to Vijayan, the government approached the court as the FIR filed by CBI is not legally valid. "Life Mission has not accepted any foreign aid. There is nothing wrong with approaching the court. The court's remark should not be interpreted as a blow to the government. There was no violation of Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act as far as Wadakkanchery Life Mission project is concerned, We will not stand as a mute spectator when a project like Life Mission, which was designed to provide home for landless and homeless poor of the state, is pushed into baseless legal entanglements. This cannot be accepted," he said.
