THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Section 144 will be imposed in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Kozhikode and Kottayam districts from Saturday onwards. The Collectors of these districts have issued an order regarding this. The prohibitory order will be valid for one month.

The action has been taken in wake of increasing COVID cases in the state. People can attend weddings and funerals under restrictions. While 20 people will be allowed to attend funerals, 50 people can attend weddings. Meanwhile, 20 people will be allowed to participate in government, religious and political functions. Government offices and banks will continue to function. Public transport will operate. There will not be any changes in public examinations. The examinations will be conducted as per COVID protocols. While shops will remain open, strong action will be taken against those shops that do not follow proper physical distancing norms.
