THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala to take legal action in the iPhone controversy. A notice will be sent to UNITAC owner Santhosh Eapen seeking to withdraw the defamatory remark. Reports said that Chennithala is moving court after he was convinced that no steps will be taken on the complaint lodged to the DGP.
It was revealed that Santhosh Eapen bought five iPhones for Swapna Suresh and one from it was gifted to the opposition leader. This was revealed in the plea filed in the high court urging to impose a stay on the CBI probe in the Life Mission scam. Six iPhones were purchased from a shop in Kochi in the name of UNITAC. Of that, five were given to Swapna. Eapen alleged that Swapna gifted one from that to Chennithala at a function held in the capital city.
However, Chennithala dismissed the allegation. He said that he bought the phone after paying cash and will face the allegation legally.
