THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After seven councillors including deputy mayor and twelve others have been diagnosed with COVID-19, restrictions have been tightened in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. Mayor K Sreekumar requested the public to avoid visiting the corporation till the 30th of this month except for emergency purposes. He said that it was by taking effective precautions that more people could be prevented from contracting the disease and preventive measures should be strictly adhered to.
The mayor said the corporation has formulated an action plan to prevent the spread of the disease. ‘Shops will be controlled, action will be taken against those who violate the protocol, including revoking their licenses, a decision has been taken to deploy volunteers to monitor the affected people,’ he said.
