THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Devika, a class 9 student of Pattom Kendriya Vidyalaya in Thiruvananthapuram, has become a star in Himachal Pradesh after a folk song sung by her became popular in the state. Following this, Devika has received a lot of offers from Himachal Pradesh to croon for songs.

Devika's song became popular after singer and lyricist Thakur Das Rathi shared it on his Facebook page. Following this, several people contacted him to know more about the singer. Though Thakur Das initially knew that Devika was from South India, he came to know that she hails from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala after contacting 'Kerala Kaumudi' on Saturday.

While stating that Devika's voice is suitable for film songs, he expressed his wish to make her sing another song. The folk song 'Maaye Ni Meriye' sung by Devika has crossed 5 lakh views in just 2 days on Thakur Das's Facebook page. As many as 12,000 people have shared the song on Facebook alone.
