KOCHI: Bail has been granted to Swapna Suresh, accused in the gold smuggling case. She was granted bail in the case registered by the customs. A natural bail was granted after sixty days. The customs had not filed the charge sheet in the case even after sixty days. She was granted bail by the economic offences court.

Though bail was granted to her, she will not be released from jail as she is facing probe in the case of NIA. More accused in the case have approached the court seeking bail. Swapna was arrested from Bengaluru on July 8. Ten of the total 17 accused in the case were granted bail. Sandeep arrested along with Swapna was granted bail in the same case.
