THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state capital clocked 700 fresh cases on Monday. Of the new cases, 532 cases are through contact. 910 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus in the last 24 hours. As of today, there are 12,385 active cases in the district.
Two deaths were confirmed in the district in the last 24 hours-Balaramapuram native Alphonse (72) and Parassala native Sarasamma (72). The death toll in the district is now 257.
Meanwhile, Ernakulam reported the highest number of cases in the state on Monday-705. Of the cases, 587 are through contact. Three COVID-19 deaths were confirmed in Ernakulam in the past 24 hours-Edappuram native Pm Abdul Salam (50), Nedumbassery native KM Baava (68) and Kakkanad native Hamsa (74). As of now, the virus claimed 79 lives in the district.
