THRISSUR: The police arrested the accused for stabbing a dental doctor to death at Kuttanellur. The doctor identified as Dr Sona was stabbed at her own dental clinic. The accused identified as Mahesh, a native of Pavaratty, stabbed Dr Sona, daughter of Jose of Moovattupuzha on Tuesday. He stabbed her in front of her relatives and his friends. Though Sona, who sustained injuries on her stomach was subjected for an operation, she died Sunday morning.

Sona lodged a complaint to the police following a dispute over financial dealings. This irked him and he reached the clinic and attacked her. Sona who sustained serious injuries was undergoing treatment and succumbed to her injuries on Sunday.

Sona, a dentist, met Mahesh, a native of Pavaratty, when she was studying in college. Later when she started a clinic in Kuttanellur she handed over the interior work to Mahesh. Estranged from her husband, she started living with Mahesh in a flat in Kuriachira. He grabbed lakhs from her in the name of the interior designing work. He started threatening her later and then took the entire income of the clinic and dominated in running the clinic.

When things turned worse, she lodged a complaint to the police and returned to the clinic with her relatives. He soon reached the clinic and attacked her. Soon after the incident, he fled in a car.
