THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP president K Surendran reiterated on Tuesday that the files in the secretariat were burned with the approval of the government. His response comes in the wake of the report submitted before the court, which rules out short circuit as the reason behind the fire. “Whatever BJP said on that day has proved to be right and now the chief minister is liable to answer over the issue,” K Surendran said.
“The section where the fire happened was closed earlier as certain officials in the section were tested positive for Covid-19 and when the incident happened two officials were unusually found in the area. Govt should probe how those two officials came there,” K Surendran opined.
“The probe team hasn’t taken testimonials of employees in the section. Forensic results prove that the government’s claims are wrong. Other than the files nothing in the department was destroyed by the blaze. How did this happen?,” Surendran asked.
