THRISSUR: Mahesh, the accused in stabbing to death a woman dentist in Kuttanellur, was hiding in many places of the district. Mahesh, a native of Pavaratty, went into hiding after stabbing her at the dental clinic. The police were not able to nab him till yesterday. Sona succumbed to her injuries on Sunday. The police intensified a search for him soon after this.

He was taken into custody from Punkunnam in the district Tuesday morning. Meantime, it is also stated that the police took him into custody when he was going with his lawyer to surrender. He was hiding in Kunnamkulam and Kodungalloor of the district after stabbing her on September 29.

Mahesh told police that he also had a share in the clinic with Sona. He said that he met her when he came to study BDS in Thrissur. Sona got divorced and reached Thrissur. The two started living together in a flat in Kuriachira. The clinic was started two years back. Mahesh said that he had also invested in the clinic. Even after months, Sona neither gave him a share of the income nor returned the money. He told police that after this he started taking the entire income from the clinic.

This financial dispute between Sona and Mahesh ended in the murder. Sona had lodged a complaint against Mahesh. Soon after this, he reached the clinic and stabbed her. He fled soon after stabbing her. Mahesh, arrested today has been charged with murder. He will be produced in the court later today.
