THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 7871 cases on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. Among the new cases, 6910 persons developed the disease through contact including 640 cases without an identified source of infection. As many as 54 had come from abroad and 146 from other states. 111 health workers tested positive for the virus today.

Meanwhile, 4981 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus in the last 24 hours.

The state recorded 25 COVID deaths on Tuesday with the toll rising to 884.
