PATHANAMTHITTA: A man was held for allegedly throwing acid on his wife in Perinad. Bineesh Philip threw the acid on the face of his wife identified as Preeja of Venkulam. The locals caught him and handed him over to the police.

The incident happened Thursday morning at 11.30 am. Bineesh and his wife were estranged for quite some time. Bineesh, who reached Perinad this morning from Kannur, reached the supermarket where his wife is working. He called her outside and then threw the acid on her face. He also sustained injuries in the attack.

The locals seeing this caught hold of him and informed the police. Both have been admitted at the taluk hospital in Ranni.
