THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vigilance will question Chief Minister's former principal secretary M Sivashankar in connection with the corruption in the Life Mission project. Notice will be given soon.
Vigilance believes that Shivshankar had planned the Life Mission scandal. The interrogation will be based on information received from Life Mission CEO UV Jose. According to the investigation team, several officials got trapped in the scandal that was secretly and tactically planned by Sivasankar. The MoU with the Red Crescent was signed on July 11, 2019. Local Government Secretary TK Jose came to know about it on the previous evening. It was Sivshankar who informed this by stating that the law department had approved the MoU. Sivasankar also informed this to CEO UV Jose.

TK Jose was told that the Red Crescent had arrived ready to build houses worth Rs 20 crore and that a memorandum of understanding should be signed the next day. On July 11, TK Jose handed over a note to Life Mission CEO UV Jose. The proposal was to sign the MoU at 5 pm that evening. The note states that the MoU was handed over by the Red Crescent.

It is up to the legal department to clarify foreign exchange. Shivshankar, who had come up with several offers for Life Mission, had sought permission to build model building complex in every district using the technology of recyclable raw materials. According to the Local Self Government Department, the permission of the high-level committee chaired by the Chief Secretary was obtained under the cover of this. Sivasankar was at the helm of this.
