THRISSUR: Post mortem report of the accused in marijuana case, who died in police custody shows that there were more than 40 wounds in his body. Shameer of Puthenveedu died in Thrissur medical college. The report also says that his backbone was broken.

The marks in his chest indicate signs of a continuous beating. A severe wound was found at his body’s backside which might have occurred due to constant beating with lathi or bamboo stick. Shameer dies on October 1st.

Police held Shameer, his wife and another person with 10 kg of marijuana on September 29. Police authorities also say that Shameer who was put in Covid 19 observation ward in Viyoor jail was agitated and went into attacking mode due to non-availability of marijuana. He was taken to hospital in an unconscious state and he died the next day.
