THRISSUR: Complaints emerged over two persons being thrashed in the observation facility of Thrissur Jail department. The plaint says that accused in theft cases were beaten up. Two cases were registered against the police officers concerned over the complaints submitted by the victims.
The thrashed victims are accused of theft cases registered in Aloor and Kodungallor police stations. Both of them are under treatment in hospitals. Shammer, a Thiruvananthapuram native and an accused in marijuana case who was also subjected to severe police criminality, died on Saturday. Following this, many new complaints have come out.
Two persons who were arrested along with Shameer were also beaten up by police. Their testimonial would be recorded in discreet on Monday. Arrested persons are first kept in quarantine at the observation facility for some time, they are only transferred to Viyue jail after ensuring that they are negative for Covid-19
