THRISSUR: Teak trees which were standing as a threat to 14 families in Aanakuzhy near Puthoor were cut off. The cost to cut trees were given by Suresh Gopi MP. The trees were chopped off by officials from the forest department.
Suresh Gopi MP came to know the plight of families through the media. After, having a picture of the incident, he called the state secretary of BJP, A Nagesh and asked him to help the families. The families are now relieved as the danger faced by them for years has been removed.
Thanking Suresh Gopi’s immediate intervention, flex boards were installed at many areas near Puthoor. The people of this area had approached authorities several times with the plea of cutting trees but they went unheard.
