THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CBI investigation into the deaths of violinist Balabhaskar and his daughter Tejaswi has entered the gold smuggling case. Balabhaskar's manager Prakashan Thampi, friend Vishnu Somasundaram and violinist Abdul Jameel are accused in the 2019 gold smuggling case. The CBI has collected all details regarding this case from the Revenue Intelligence. On July 31, Kerala Kaumudi had reported that the CBI investigation will extend to the gold smuggling mafia.

A CBI official said the investigation was progressing on the most suspicious matters. Earlier, both Prakash and Vishnu were subjected to lie detector tests. CBI had received information regarding the presence of a gold smuggling case accused at the spot where the accident took place. As per the report submitted by the CBI, the accident was linked to gold smugglers and there were mysterious financial transactions after Balu's death.
