THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Roshy Augustine MLA and Jayaraj MLA of Kerala Congress (M) Jose faction have been served Speaker's notice based on the complaint of violating party whip during the no-confidence motion on August 24. The notice was sent on a complaint filed by Monce Joseph. As per the speaker's notice, the MLAs have to explain the reasons as to why they should not be disqualified.
Earlier, Joseph faction's Monce Joseph and PJ Joseph were also served speaker's notice based on the complaint filed by Roshy Augustine. On August 24, Monce Joseph had issued a whip asking all Party MLAs to participate in the Rajya Sabha election as well as the Assembly session on the same day. On the other hand, Roshy Augustine issued another whip asking all party MLAs to stay away from the election and assembly session. There are court orders in favour of the Joseph faction and an Election Commission order in favour of the Jose faction. Both sides are claiming the authenticity of the whip based on these orders.
