THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM on Tuesday proposed to divide the seats for the upcoming local body elections by including the Kerala Congress-Jose faction. The party leadership also directed for the reorganization of the existing LDF committees to include the Jose faction.
According to the leadership, candidates who have contested twice in a row and party's local and area secretaries should not be considered as candidates. The district secretariat should allow exemption in this. The lower committees should inform the upper committees about the exemptions and the upper committees should inform this to the district committee. The criterion should be the probability of victory. Efficient and proven women in the public sphere and those belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes should not be confined to their reserved seats. Talented candidates should also be considered for general seats. Newcomers and young people should be considered as much as possible. Adequate representation should be ensured for the youth.
