THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said that one per cent of people in the state who have recovered from COVID-19 have been diagnosed with Post-COVID syndrome. The CM said that although the virus was not present in the bodies of those who had recovered, the organs of some people might experience ailments due to the infection.

According to the CM, those suffering from post-COVID syndrome might experience lung and kidney ailments for a period of time. These people are also at risk of long-term fatigue and heart disease, he added. He suggested that those who have tested negative should remain in observation for another week.
