KOCHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday arrested Rabins, the main accused in the Thiruvananthapuram airport gold smuggling case, from the Nedumbassery airport. Rabins, who was deported from Dubai, was arrested by the investigation team as soon as he landed in Kerala.
Rabins, along with Faisal Fareed, had sent the gold from the UAE via diplomatic cargo. He conspired to smuggle gold and made all the arrangements. The NIA had told the court that he had links with the underworld gang D Company. Faisal Fareed is the only accused to be arrested in the gold smuggling case. He is in the UAE.
