KOLLAM: The husband of the woman who committed suicide along with her son by jumping into a lake in Kollam also ended his life. Siju, a native of Vellimon in Kundara was found hanging Tuesday morning. He was a conductor of a private bus. His wife Rakhi and son Aadi jumped into the Ashatamudi Lake Sunday evening.

Rakhi was the daughter of Yashodharan Pillai of Palakadavu. The couple got married four years back. They were staying in a rented house after marriage. Her relatives said that he used to torture her after coming home drunk.

Rakhi was seen going out with the child Sunday evening at 4 pm. She told her neighbours that she is going home when the neighbours asked her where she was going. Some children saw her walking on the lake side in the evening. Her father lodged a complaint when she did not return in the night.

The body of Rakhi was found in a search conducted Monday morning. The scuba team fished the body of Aadi yesterday afternoon. The bodies are kept at the mortuary of the district hospital. The post-mortem will be conducted after COVID test.
