THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 8790 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, Health Minister KK Shailaja informed. Among the new cases, 7646 persons developed the disease through contact including 872 cases without an identified source of infection. 178 persons who came from outside the state and 94 health workers also tested positive for the virus today.
Meanwhile, 7015 patients tested negative for the virus on Wednesday. As per official data, there are 93,264 active cases in the state.
The state recorded 27 COVID deaths on Monday with the toll rising to 1403.
