KOLLAM: A 24-year-old woman was allegedly hacked to death by her neighbour in Kollam. A dispute on the flow of sewage is the reason for the murder. The dead has been identified as Abirami of Uliyakovil in Kollam. Her mother Leena who sustained injuries has been admitted in the hospital. Accused Umesh Babu also sustained injuries in the attack.

The incident happened last night. There was a dispute between the family of Abirami and Umesh Babu over sewage for quite some time. The sewage from Umesh’s house used to flow near her house. She had lodged a complaint to Kollam East Police Station. The police had summoned both families to the station and a conciliatory discussion was held.

Last night Umesh came with a knife and attacked the two. Abirami died on the spot itself. He is undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
