kanam-rajendran

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The arrest of Bineesh Kodiyeri, son of CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, will not affect the government in any way, said CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran. He is not part of the government, he is an independent person. The BJP is using central agencies politically, blamed Kanam.

Kodiyeri had earlier clarified party’s stand in the case related to Bineesh. He is not a party member and so neither the CPM nor the government have anything to opine in it, said Kanam.

The ED arrested Bineesh Kodiyeri the other day on charges of funding a drug racket. He will be in the custody of ED for four days for interrogation. He was booked under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He can be sentenced to three to seven years in the case.
