THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 6638 COVID-19 cases on Friday, Health Minister KK Shailaja informed. Among the new cases, 5789 persons developed the disease through contact including 700 cases without an identified source of infection. 64 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 7828 patients tested negative for the virus on Friday.

The state recorded 28 COVID deaths on Friday with the toll rising to 1457.
