BENGALURU: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which arrested Bineesh Kodiyeri on charges of funding a drug racket in Bengaluru, has submitted a report containing accused Anoop Muhammed's statements against Bineesh at the Bengaluru City Civil Court.

According to ED, Anoop, the drug case accused who is currently in prison, is a benami of Bineesh. As per the report, Anoop had revealed that Bineesh was his boss and he used to deal with the benami transactions of Bineesh. The report also states that Anoop's hotel in Bengaluru was a benami deal of Bineesh. The information was obtained when Anoop was questioned in custody from October 17 to 21. Anoop and Bineesh are close friends.

Anoop was paid large sums of money through bank transfers and direct accounts. Bineesh laundered money through Anoop's accounts. Bineesh has admitted that he had given money to Anoop. However, he did not cooperate when quizzed about the source of funding and the details of the payment, the report said. That is why Bineesh had to be taken into custody.

Huge sums have been deposited in Bineesh's accounts in Kerala. This money was handed over to Anoop. ED says that as a person of power and influence, Bineesh might try to destroy evidence against him. ED is planning to question both Bineesh and Anoop together.
