THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sports council president Mercykuttan has denied the allegations of BJP state president K Surendran on her. Mercykuttan has said that Surendran’s allegations are baseless and will approach the court to take legal action against him. Mercykuttan has said that Surendran has raised allegations against a former athlete.

K Surendran in a press meet held on Saturday has alleged that the official vehicle of sports council chief has been used for smuggling gold. Probe agencies have received information on Mercikutty’s PA using her official vehicle for gold smuggling. The PA of sports council chief is a nominee of CPM. Surendran has also said that the day when gold was caught by customs officials they had also received a lead on sports council chief’s vehicle being used for transporting gold from Thiruvananthapuram to Bengaluru.
