KOCHI: Advocate Abraham, son of senior CPM leader and former LDF convener MM Lawrence, has joined the BJP. Abraham will receive party membership on Sunday from BJP national president JP Nadda. Abraham said he was leaving the CPM in protest against the Bineesh Kodiyeri issue.

"I have decided to join BJP after getting attracted to its nationalism. The CPM has deviated from its ideals," Abraham said. He added that he was a member of the CPM and had not told his father that he would join the BJP.
