THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After a female tiger escaped from a cage in Lion Safari Park in Neyyar causing much panic, the forest department officials have said there are chances that the animal could go to Neyyar dam as it hasn't been captured it.

The forest officials share a doubt whether the tiger jumped into the water. The authorities have stopped that search due to night time. The forest department has decided to use tranquilizer shots on finding the tiger. The local residents have been alerted about the situation. The tiger was earlier spotted near the backside entry gate of the Lion Safari Park.

The nine-year-old female cat, which had killed several cattle in the forest fringes of Wayanad, was brought to Neyyar, about 30 km from the capital city. The animal escaped the cage on Saturday morning. The local residents are under panic after the news broke out.
